Barrett Mortgages, a mortgage broker in Poole, was facing challenges with progressing their business due to their outdated online presence. Despite being in business for over 15 years and accumulating a catalogue of positive reviews, their poor outdated UI system would discourage new customers from interacting if they weren’t referred by a previous customer. This was because their digital presence didn’t reflect their experience, showcase their reviews, or make it easy in terms of functionality for potential customers to interact. Alongside this, the dated website platform that they were using meant that they didn’t have a streamlined data collection processes to collect large quantities of data from customers that they inevitably needed. Barrett Mortgages needed help to bring their digital presence and systems into 2025 - that's where we come in!
I've been extremely happy with the work Josh has done on my website, barrettmortgages.com. As a financial services site, compliance added complexity, but he went above and beyond to meet the requirements. Even after the build, he continues to provide outstanding support. Highly recommend!

The Barrett Mortgages team had been providing valuable mortgage advice for over 15 years, but were struggling to convey this online.
After completing a detailed audit of the Barrett Mortgages site, here are some of the main issues that we identified.
A Lack of Design Cohesiveness
Their website didn’t reflect their brand identity consistently which resulted in a lack of trust and validity which was a complete contrast to their longstanding business.
A Poor User Interface
The UI design wasn’t on par with their competitors and was in need of an update to compete with and outperform local and national competitors.
Inefficient Mobile Conversion
Their website wasn’t optimised for mobile which meant it was difficult for users to access it on their phones which is of course for modern day users.
Insufficient Accessibility Features
Important accessibility factors were absent on their website meaning a large proportion of potential customers were being dismissed and one of Google’s most important values was being ignored.
How Tweyelight gave Barrett Mortgages the online presence that it deserves.
A Calculated Design Strategy
We crafted a cohesive design which modernised the design style, while maintaining the core of their original brand identity.
Improved Functionality
We developed comprehensive form submission processes that were convenient to the website visitors to allow potential customers to submit requests out of hours - convenient for the customers and maximised the business’ time.
Transferred to a Modern Web Builder
We converted the original site from an outdated web builder to a modern, user focussed web builder. This future proofed the site and has many features to improve performance and SEO.
Developed Content Systems
A website is useless without easy to use systems to add content and make changes. This is why we implemented fully custom CMS systems built to manage the website without needing code. We also provided training material for their staff members to watch as many times as they needed and become experts in the new systems.
Results
Since collaborating with Tweyelight, Barrett Mortgages has significantly improved its digital presence and customer experience:
Increased Functionality: Website visitors are now able to native and interact with the site easier.
Maximised Resources: The business can now generate enquiries outside of traditional business hours.
Improved Web Capacity: The website now has increased ability to engage visitors, collect data and build customer relationships
Developed Design & Systems: Everything from the design of the site to the systems behind it has been modernised ensuring the business stays relevant to the modern customer.

The Tweyelight team has been valuable to Barrett Mortgages in helping them to represent their business digitally which increased their customer base, showcased their expertise and customer relationships while improving their brand awareness. At the time of handing over the new website, is was ranking in the top three positions of Google’s searches. Due to the lack of consistency with uploading content and management which is understandable for any busy business owner their position at the top of Google inevitably dropped, so Barrett Mortgages decided to utilise our Sunrise Support service where the SEO and content management is done for them.
Barrett Mortgages was a challenging site due to the nature of the business. We had to create bespoke animations and illustrations along with a UI style that progressed but also aligned with their visual identity to ensure customers would recognise the brand. There was many challenges due to compliance, particularly the copywriting and making sure that we were providing specialised information. We communicated with the business owner to ensure everything would pass compliance before publishing and I’m very happy with the outcome
